High-Airflow Case Cooling Fan for Filtered PC Chassis Intake
Computer chassis manufacturing — Middle East
The Challenge
A chassis manufacturer needed a case fan for a front intake position with dust filter and decorative mesh. The original fan performed well in open air but lost airflow once installed behind the filter panel.
The customer wanted a quieter fan curve for normal operation and enough airflow headroom for high-load gaming systems.
The Solution
Herays recommended a PWM case fan with stronger pressure capability for filtered intake use. The fan was tested in the customer chassis instead of only comparing free-air specifications.
The fan curve was tuned so the fan could stay quieter at low temperature and ramp up when the system needed more cooling.
Products Used
Results
The selected fan improved practical intake airflow through the filter and reduced unnecessary high-speed operation during normal use. The customer used the fan as the default intake option for a new chassis series.
