High-Speed DC Blower Fan for a Compact 3D Printer Cooling Module -- 3D printer and maker equipment cooling case study

The Challenge

A 3D printer equipment customer needed a compact blower fan to push air through a narrow duct around the print head. The previous axial fan could not provide enough pressure after the duct geometry was changed.

The fan also needed reliable startup, stable 24V operation, and a compact outlet structure that could fit the print head assembly.

The Solution

Herays selected a high-speed 24V DC blower fan designed for directional airflow and higher static pressure. The blower outlet and cable direction were reviewed against the customer mechanical layout.

Samples were tested for cooling performance, startup behavior, and noise during different print modes.

Products Used

Results

The blower fan improved directed airflow through the compact duct and helped stabilize cooling around the print head. The customer confirmed the model for the next engineering build and requested a longer cable version for easier assembly.
