Telecom Cabinet Fan Selection for Outdoor Network Equipment -- Telecom infrastructure cooling case study

The Challenge

The cabinet had restricted airflow paths and was exposed to elevated ambient temperature, dust, and long operating hours. The customer required stable airflow, suitable voltage, and a fan option that could support outdoor cabinet conditions.

  • Outdoor cabinet exposure to heat and dust
  • Dense electronics with limited ventilation area
  • Continuous operation and uptime requirements
  • Need for repeatable quality across batch production

The Solution

Herays helped the customer compare DC axial fan options by airflow, static pressure, rated voltage, bearing system, and protection requirements. A model with higher pressure capability was selected to maintain airflow through the cabinet’s restricted path.

Custom lead wire and connector requirements were confirmed before sample approval.

Results

The selected fan improved airflow through the telecom cabinet and helped the customer maintain a more stable internal temperature during high-temperature testing.
