Quiet 12V DC Axial Fan Replacement for Embedded Electronics Cooling
Embedded electronics — North America
The Challenge
A device manufacturer needed to replace a noisy small axial fan used in an embedded electronics module. The available space was fixed, and the replacement fan had to match the existing mounting holes, voltage, connector direction, and wire sequence.
The customer wanted lower perceived noise without reducing the thermal margin of the device.
The Solution
Herays reviewed the original fan size, rated voltage, wire definition, and target operating temperature. A brushless 12V DC axial fan was selected with a quieter speed range and suitable bearing structure for continuous operation.
The sample was supplied with customized cable length and connector orientation so it could be tested directly in the existing housing.
Products Used
Results
The customer confirmed that the fan fit the original mechanical design and reduced noise during normal operation. The replacement also kept airflow sufficient for the electronics module under the customer thermal test cycle.
The project became a regular replacement fan supply program for the customer device line.
